Grand Prix de Monaco Historique

On Sunday 25th April the incredible 12th Grand Prix de Monaco Historique took place, a biannual event which sees sports cars from the golden era of motor racing battling it out on Monaco’s famous Formula 1 circuit.

About Monaco's Historic Grand Prix Event

The racing is divided into seven classes, ranging from stunning pre-war grand prix cars to iconic Formula 1 cars from 1977-1980, creating evenly matched fields that give onlookers an authentic experience of what it would have been like to experience motor racing in those eras. Each race lasts 30 to 45 minutes and is packed with daring overtakes and adrenaline-fueled drifts around the fiendishly-tight corners.

These historical cars, including vintage Ferraris, Bugattis and Jaguars, are some of the rarest and often the last of their kind in the world, many of them far exceeding the value of today’s racing cars, meaning a high-speed accident is all the more perilous.

Racing fans and celebrities from all over the world descend upon the tiny Principality in the Mediterranean every year for the festivities and motor racing that takes over, which also includes the Formula 1 and Formula E races, both due to take place in May this year.

One of the best places to view the racing is from a superyacht, moored trackside in this unique sporting arena unlike anywhere else in the world.

If you would like to know more about a yacht charter or event package for the Formula 1 or Formula E races, please contact Alexandra@WorthAvenueYachts or a member of the Worth Avenue Yachts Monaco team who will be happy to assist you.
