Damen Yachting
Damen Yachting yachts which include the SeaXplorer and Yacht Support lines unite forces with Amels under one umbrella to create Damen Yachting. The diverse portfolio now includes The Netherlands largest luxury building facilities, a pedigree superyacht range and two iconic up-and-coming classifications – the explorer and the support yacht.
The Yachts of Damen Yachting
The yachts built by the company Damen Yachting include; Damen Yachting yachts (SeaXplorer, Yacht Support and refit or full custom build) and Amels yachts (Limited Editions, Amels Full Custom and Amels refit.)
The shipyard has combined Damen built yacht products with Amels products under one umbrella to create Damen Yachting. One company that covers the complete range of yachts. This company, Damen Yachting, is still part of the Damen Shipyards Group but operates as its own company. It is the business unit within the Group that covers yacht building activities. The single group enables Damen to centralize and strengthen the yacht building teams, facilities, engineering and customer care under one umbrella. It also ensures the shipbuilder to have the broadest portfolio possible brought together under Damen Yachting.
A GREEN SHIPYARD
Gerwin Supheert, part Customer Service care team, was curious if Damen Yachting could add solar panels to their giant roof space in order to conserve energy. They found out that they are able to generate 100% of their electricity requirements on the sunny days in Holland. This idea grew into a Damen-wide project within all its shipyards in the Netherlands. In total they now have almost 39,000 panels generating 12MW.
In addition to their solar panel project, Damen Yachting is working with their local community projects to clean up plastic litter on the North Sea beaches.
THE 78 meter full custom ameLs' yacht
largest amels yacht to date
The largest Amels yacht to date is a 78 meter Amels Full Custom with a Gross Tonnage of 2,850. The contract was signed in September of 2017 and she has an anticipated delivery date of 2021. The owner decided on Espen Øino and his team to design the exterior and general arrangement of this fully custom yacht. Zuretti Interior Designers was appointed to design the interior of the yacht.
AMELS MODELS
The Amels Limited Editions range of superyachts offers a proven technical platform with custom interiors. The model range offers the perfect balance between full custom and semi-custom – and reduces delivery time from several years to as little as a few months. The philosophy behind the successful Amels Limited Editions range is evident with 40 yachts delivered since 2005.
SEAXPLORER MODELS
The SeaXplorer premiere expedition yachts offer incredible global exploring capability, combined with luxury. YACHT SUPPORT MODELS
Yacht Support models built by Damen Yachting were created for the purpose of building support Superyacht operations to be capable of holding submarines, helicopters, and large tenders and toys. Damen Yachting has delivered many Yacht support vessels from 45 meters to 70 meters to buyers around the world.

After the Damen Family acquired Amels in 1991 they have since continued to invest in its yacht building business.
Kommer Damen has grown the business into Damen Shipyards Group since taking over his father’s shipyard in 1969 with six employees.
