Italian Shipyard Visit featuring WIDER

The Worth team recently visited Ancona, Italy 

Ancona has been a traditional base of yacht building for decades, with a good base of talented sub-contractors that are established in luxury yacht building.

All of the yards are on the edge of the commercial port and as such have deep-water access. Probably the best-known and largest builder in this region is CRN – which is part of the Chinese owned Ferretti Group. Next to CRN, is the bankrupt ISA yard, which at this time had just been purchased by Palumbo (Columbus) Yachts (a large group based in Napoli, with multiple re-fit yards). This Group is building it’s own yachts in it’s headquartered shipyard in Naples and plans to revive the ISA brand in Ancona.

In this same strip is the Cantieri Del Marche, builder of steel displacement “expedition” vessels and Wider Yachts.
