Custom Nordlund Yacht THE HAPPY BOAT

Unique purchase opportunity

THE HAPPY BOAT (ex. ANGELIQUE) presents a unique purchase opportunity from renowned manufacturers Nordlund Boat Company and McQueen Shipyard. This partnership between shipyards has ushered a custom yacht like no other in the world.

THE HAPPY BOAT 75' Nordlund Yacht 2002 Profile

Hull construction was completed by the Nordlund Boat Company in Washington before being transported to the McQueen Shipyard in Canada for final construction and commissioning. Originally named ANGELIQUE, THE HAPPY BOAT was the 35th yacht over 75-feet McQueen Shipyard has built. Designed by the internationally renowned naval architect from Bainbridge Island, Ed Monk Jr and structurally engineered by Tim Nolan of Port Townsend the exceptional build quality is apparent from the moment you step onboard. THE HAPPY BOAT was designed with a modified v molded FRP hull and boasts a 21-inch tracking keel and modest deadrise aft. Equipped with a Wesmar motion dampening system (stabilizing fins) as well as bow and stern thrusters she provides a smooth ride underway and at anchor.

Built to be owner-operated, the flush deck raised pilothouse motor yacht features a distinct profile. The interior finishes are teak paneling with solid teak trim. A spacious salon can be accessed through the sliding door in the aft deck. An entertainment center is to port while dining for up to four guests is to starboard. A large L-shaped seating area is located forward to starboard. Moving two steps up to the galley, an intelligently designed 12-foot-long buffet is to port.

Lower deck accommodations allow for eight guests in three staterooms. The forward stateroom was originally designed for crew quarters but has since been customized into a spacious ensuite stateroom with queen walkaround berth and twin bunks. Through the passageway is an additional guest ensuite stateroom with a queen walkaround berth. Moving aft is the owner’s ensuite stateroom with dedicated hanging lockers, an entertainment center, and access to the utility and engine rooms. Additionally, the engine room and lazarette can also be accessed via deck hatch on the aft deck.

Powered by twin, diesel, Caterpillar 3406E engines with 800HP, THE HAPPY BOAT cruises comfortably at 15 knots and 1600 rpm. Reaching a top speed of 20 knots at 2300 rpm, the seaworthy strength of THE HAPPY BOAT is undisputed. On demand power is supplied by two Northern Lights gensets with 20kW and 12kW.

Over the years the side decks were reconstructed to allow for more headroom and easier access. Additionally, the aft cockpit area was extended by 3-feet which resulted in a more voluminous space allowing for the easy entertaining of guests.
