Sailing and Work Experience Tiago has extensive maritime experience, having worked on over 10 different yachts in various capacities. In his most recent roles, he served as captain on M/Y CAPRI, overseeing the revitalization of the yacht, managing contracts, coordinating shipyards, and handling a tight schedule. He also captained S/Y GIGI successfully delivering the yacht from Menorca to Palma. Additionally, Tiago has worked as a watch leader on S/Y L’HIPPOCAMPE first mate on S/Y WINDROSE OF AMSTERDAM and S/Y PATTO and as a deckhand on S/Y INT CLASS and S/Y J CLASS RAINBOW. In these roles, he has carried out a wide range of tasks, including navigation, rigging repairs, engineering work, tender driving, yacht deliveries, and managing watersport activities, all while ensuring the highest standards of safety and maintenance. His versatility and leadership have made him an invaluable asset across a variety of challenging sailing environments. Job Description As Captain, the overall running of the vessel is Tiago’s responsibility; this includes the navigation, safety and experience of all onboard. He ensures that IKIGAI runs smoothly and efficiently whilst adhering to all the appropriate regulations. Most recently, she was 1st mate, sole stewardess, and chef on S/Y Years of Laughter, managing sailing operations, interior upkeep, provisioning, and meal prep for a private family during a busy summer. She also contributed to the yacht's refit, gaining practical knowledge of yacht systems. Her diverse experience includes temp deck/stew/crew cook on S/Y NULUV, yacht deliveries on vessels like S/Y Geronimo and S/Y Phileo, and temp chef on M/Y Think Bigger. A seasoned sailor, Brigette has competed in major offshore yacht races like the Mossel Bay Race, West Coast Race, and Rolex Giraglia. Job Description As the Chef/Hostess, Brigette is responsible for the crew and guest meals throughout the charter, ensuring that the food is enjoyable, and the interior of the yacht is clean and serviceable. She is a creative chef, varying her meals to provide a variety and according to the location of IKIGAI to have as much relevance as possible to the country being visited.
