Alessandra Colonello

First Mate / Chef

Aly is half Chilean half Italian and this combination ignited a passion for cooking from a very early age. Aly grew up on a sailing boat in French Polynesia for the first 3 years of her life. This is where her connection with the ocean began and since then, she is been travelling around the world collecting recipes, and experimenting with different palates and flavors, always preferring fresh, colourful and modern, mixed with traditional, dishes. Ally’s passion does not end with the meals she prepares. She is a Marine Biologist and loves everything related to the ocean, especially surfing and diving. Her travels have taken her to many exotic places. She has sailed Fiji, Kiribati, the Marshall Islands and French Polynesia. It was not until she dropped anchor 2 years ago in the Bahamas when she met Sarel and they started working together. Aly is flexible with any specific dietary needs and restrictions and loves cooking any and all kinds of food. Her goal is happy tummies and to make sure that everyone around her has a great time on the ocean. Licenses: Advanced Diver
