Crew

Mike Mullen

Captain

Before joining RELENTLESS, Michael was the longtime captain for the Hollywood celebrity, Merv Griffin, and during his time running a trio of yachts belonging to Mr. Griffin he spent time cruising on both US and Canadian East and West coasts, as well as most Mediterranean, European and Middle Eastern ports. Prior to that he sailed a 174’ motor yacht across the Pacific and worked in Malaysia and Singapore, traveling extensively in the South Pacific. Growing up in England, and needing income to fund his passion for climbing in the North West Highlands of Scotland, his maritime career began as a lobster fisherman in the Hebrides and West coast of Scotland. He then went on to work on oil rigs during the North Sea boom and then oil rig anchor handling supply boats all over the world, quickly working his way up to become the youngest captain in the Zapata fleet at the time. Somewhere along the way climbing gave way to sailing, and he has owned his own 35’ sailing yacht, and has captained and worked on yachts up to 300 feet. He brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and seamanship to his position on RELENTLESS. Nowadays most of his time is spent in the Bahamas and the Caribbean, where he puts his experience to great advantage in finding the best anchorages, harbors, (and hopefully sometimes fish!) for his charter guests.
