CHARTER TERMS & CONDITIONS

Charter rates are usually based on the terms of the Mediterranean Yacht Brokers Association (MYBA) and include the hire of the yacht, along with its crew, crew food, and the yacht’s insurance. All other operating expenses (known as the Advanced Provisioning Allowance, or APA) are the charterer’s responsibility and may include, but are not limited to, guests’ food and beverages, fuel for the main engines, generators, and tenders, dockage, port and harbor dues, communication costs, etc., unless otherwise stated.

The APA is estimated to be approximately 35% of the charter rate; however, this can vary depending on the charterers’ preferences. We will provide an estimated percentage to cover all costs, which will be due at least 30 days prior to your charter, to allow the crew to fully provision before your embarkation. The Captain will keep a detailed report of the accounts and expenditures, along with their receipts, which can be shown to the charterer at any time during the charter upon request. If the APA does not cover the expenditures, the charterer will be responsible for fulfilling the outstanding payment prior to departure. Any remaining funds from the APA will be returned to the charterer in the local currency, together with the expense report, upon disembarkation.

Local sales taxes may be applicable to your charter, depending on your cruising destination. We will include this information as it applies to yachts in each location.

Provisions will be purchased directly from local markets, supermarkets, and specialty stores; however, there may be times when the captain will request the assistance of a local maritime agency to help with premium port bookings, ground transfers, and procurement of specialty food and beverage items. Any charges incurred due to these services will be reflected in your account.

All information provided in the presentation is believed to be correct but cannot be guaranteed. Should you wish to have a specific water toy and/or item on board for your charter, please contact us for further assistance. The use of personal watercraft may be restricted in certain cruising areas and may require special licenses.

Please note, many yachts are on the market for sale. Should a yacht sell prior to your charter, it is our responsibility to find you a yacht of similar or better quality for your charter. Trip Cancellation Insurance can also be purchased for a nominal fee. We would be more than happy to provide an estimated quote prior to the signature of the charter agreements for your consideration.

Several yachts require a nanny to assist with children under the age of 14. Please let us know if this is a concern with your charter party, as we will ensure we provide yachts that are more family-friendly.

A crew gratuity is given at the sole discretion of the charterer. We usually recommend a gratuity between 10% and 20% of the charter rate, provided you are satisfied with the service you receive while on board. We would be more than happy to discuss this further at your convenience and answer any questions you may have regarding gratuities.
