Walk Through
The Independence 50 is a two-stateroom, two-head cruising yacht of exceptional build and quality. Starting at the fully-enclosed aft deck, one enters into the full-beam salon and the thoughtful utilization of space and design is readily apparent. The galley is forward to port, a private companionway to the master is centerline, and steps up to the pilothouse are to starboard. Heading up to the large, airy pilothouse you'll find a large lounge seat with drop leaf table, a watch berth up and abaft the seating, and a centerline helm station. There are wing doors port and starboard, and a companionway down to the guest stateroom and head to starboard.
Stepping down the companionway leads to the forepeak stateroom and head, or aft into the master stateroom.
Exiting the pilothouse from either wing door, leads to the spacious foredeck and built-in seating atop the deckhouse, or aft via either side deck to the boat deck. The boat deck features the dinghy, davit, and custom freezer locker.
Pilothouse
The pilothouse aboard the Cherubini is the operational and voyaging center, with incredible visibility, access to both side decks, and ample seating (including a watch berth) for those wanting to be part of the action. The helm is centerline, with a drop leaf table immediately abaft the helm, and forward of the seating lounge, making it appropriate for meals, drinks, or laying out a chart. Directly abaft the lounge is the watch berth, which features opening ports, fans, and reading lights. Forward to starboard is the companionway down to the guest stateroom.

Remarks
The Cherubini Independence 50 is a rare and highly sought-after US-built cruising yacht of premium quality and renowned sea-keeping abilities. Designed by Gary Grant and James Backus, the Cherubini was built to rigid design specifications, specifically:
- Stability and Safety
- Efficiency
- Speed
- Minimal Maintenance
- Quality Construction and Strength
- Interior Cubic Space
- Flawless Lines
Stepping aboard, it is readily apparent that she is meant to travel. The thought and detail that went into the build and design has elevated these boats into becoming a coveted offering in the cruising/trawler class.
Due in large part to her full-beam salon, once aboard she appears to be much larger than her 50'. This is a very nicely modernized, maintained, and equipped cruising yacht, worthy of consideration for anyone seeking a competent vessel for extended traveling - be it the Pacific Northwest, the Caribbean, or the Great Loop. She boasts 1000 mile range, but her twin Cummins engines also provide the necessary speed when needed for short passages or outrunning the weather or tides.
