ApreamareYachts for Sale
The history of Apreamare traces back to 1849 when Giovanni Aprea initiated the handcrafting of rowing and sailing boats in Sorrento for fishing purposes, drawing inspiration from the traditional “gozzo sorrentino” design. The family legacy continued through Giovanni’s son, Cataldo, and subsequently to some of his sons, notably the eldest, Giovanni.
During the post-Second World War era, a significant transformation occurred as car engines were incorporated into the boats. The boatyard transitioned into producing the first “gozzi” for pleasure boating, quickly becoming the dominant sector, surpassing professional fishing boats.
In 1973, Cataldo Aprea’s entry into the family boatyard marked a pivotal moment in the company’s management and production methods. Fueled by innovative ideas, Cataldo Aprea decided to venture out on his own, establishing the Apreamare boatyard in 1983.
The year 1988 proved to be crucial as Cataldo Aprea, along with Salvatore Pollio, a visionary constructor recognizing the sector’s potential and creativity, co-founded Apreamare Srl. In 2001, Apreamare joined forces with the Ferretti Group. This collaboration with one of the marine industry’s leading companies facilitated the company’s growth and success in new and significant markets.
Following nine years of a fruitful partnership with the Ferretti Group, on March 24th, 2010, the Aprea and Pollio families reassumed direct control of Apreamare, bringing it back into the family fold.
